Historic Sunbeam Lotus having participated in the Castrol Autosport championship in England then the European Rally Championship 1979/80/81/83/84.

In the 80s, its Cypriot driver Dimi Mavropoulos distinguished himself in rallying by becoming Champion on the island of Cyprus on several occasions. He also distinguished himself in the United Kingdom in the discipline of rally cross.

At the wheel of this Sunbeam Lotus, he achieved several podiums, placing second in 1981 and 1982, and once third (in Group B) in 1984.

This Sunbeam Lotus received factory support for its construction and was among the very first Sunbeam homologated in rallying. As such, it had the original factory parts that it has kept: factory wiring harness, reinforced body, Salsbury self-locking axle, minilite rims, axle with quick-release axle shafts, Solex 48 mm carburetor, double fan, adjustable distribution front and rear brakes, hydraulic handbrake, large radiator, dry sump.

This historic rally vehicle underwent a complete restoration in 2011.

Since then, the Sunbeam Lotus has driven in several test sessions.  

It has its original registration and has been restored in accordance with the group 2 homologation form.
