As the first prototype entirely designed by the Var-based constructor, the Oreca 03 LMP2 established itself as one of the benchmarks of its generation.

Campaigned by the Pecom Racing team in the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), chassis no. 15 boasts a top-tier racing pedigree. Driven by a stellar lineup including former factory drivers Pierre Kaffer and Nicolas Minassian, they secured a legendary victory at the 6 Hours of Spa, alongside a 3rd-place podium at Silverstone and a 2nd-place finish at Austin, ultimately wrapping up the season 4th in the LMP2 Championship.

Now eligible for the most prestigious historic grids (including Historic Sportscar Racing (USA), Motor Racing Legends, Masters Historic Racing, and Peter Auto), this freshly revised LMP2 represents a superb opportunity to acquire a championship-winning, reliable, and high-performance prototype

The Dawn of a Golden Era in LMP2

The advent of the LMP2 category in the early 2010s profoundly reshaped the landscape of global endurance racing. Among the constructors who seized this opportunity to engrave their names at the pinnacle of the discipline, Oreca holds a special place. Introduced in 2011, the Oreca 03 did not merely prove to be a formidable competitor; it became one of the defining LMP2 benchmarks of its generation.

The Oreca 03: The Pinnacle of Oreca Engineering

While Oreca had previously managed the track operations of third-party chassis (such as Courage or the Peugeot 908), the Oreca 03 marked a crucial industrial turning point: it was the very first prototype entirely designed, developed, and assembled by the French constructor within its Signes workshops, located at the gates of the Paul Ricard circuit.

Engineer David Floury penned a car with formidable aerodynamic efficiency. Built around an ultra-rigid carbon monocoque inherited from the Courage LC70, the Oreca 03 was distinguished by its sleekness, its high-speed stability, and its ability to generate massive downforce while minimizing drag.

To propel this 900 kg Le Mans Prototype, Oreca partnered with the leading engine supplier of the era: Nissan. Positioned in a mid-rear layout, the naturally aspirated 4.5-litre Nissan V8 (engine code VK45DE) is both high-performing and highly reliable. Developing nearly 450 horsepower, this powerplant delivered a linear torque curve perfectly suited to the rigors of 6-to-24-hour races. Paired with a 6-speed Xtrac sequential gearbox with paddle shifters, the assembly formed the most competitive and coveted technical package on the grid.

Racing History: The Global Odyssey of Chassis No. 15

The history of chassis No. 15 is intrinsically linked to the journey of Pecom Racing, a structure driven by the passion and ambition of Argentine businessman and racing driver Luis Pérez Companc. Competed at the highest international level, this chassis was one of the major protagonists of the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season.

Sporting a superb white, orange, and black livery, chassis no. 15 was entrusted to a world-class driver lineup. Alongside Pérez Companc was Germany's Pierre Kaffer, a driver with numerous victories under his belt in the Audi R8, and the talented French ace Nicolas Minassian, bringing years of elite experience as a factory Peugeot LMP1 driver

Winner of the 2013 6 Hours of Spa, podium at Silverstone and Austin

The 2013 season will forever remain the pinnacle of chassis No. 15’s career. From the opening round at the 6 Hours of Silverstone, the car demonstrated its potential by securing a superb 3rd-place finish in LMP2. However, it was on May 4, 2013, at the legendary 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, that chassis No. 15 carved its place into history. At the end of a memorable race held under changing weather conditions, the crew delivered a flawless performance. Thanks to a bold tire strategy and Minassian's blistering pace through the Raidillon, the car crossed the finish line as the grand winner of the LMP2 class.

A few weeks later, chassis No. 15 tackled the monument of motorsport: the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Facing fierce competition, the car confirmed its legendary robustness by finishing a strong 4th in class (10th overall). The remainder of the global campaign (São Paulo, Fuji, Shanghai, Bahrain) was marked by clockwork regularity. In Austin, the Oreca 03 clinched another podium with a fantastic 2nd place in LMP2, ultimately allowing Pecom Racing to secure 4th place overall in the FIA WEC World Championship.

Eligible for Masters Endurance Legends, HSR, Motor Racing Legends, Peter Auto, and Le Mans Classic Legend

This ORECA 03 is an outstanding LMP2 contender for modern historic grids and Le Mans Classic Legend. Indeed, it is a very accessible car in terms of both driving and maintenance, while still delivering elite performance levels. The naturally aspirated Nissan V8 is renowned for its longevity and controlled rebuild costs.

The car is offered with a fresh, 0-km revised engine and a highly attractive spares package. This is truly a premier opportunity not to be missed!
