The AC ACECA Bristol is a rare model

The AC ACECA Bristol is a rare car since only 171 units have been produced. Elegant by its original and characteristic line of the 50s, noble by its all-aluminum body and by its 2-liter Bristol engine, it offers a cocktail of refinement.  and unique sportiness. 

The car offered for sale is part of the Ascott collection. Built  August 24, 1957 bearing the chassis number BE621, it is a first series recognizable by the base of its square windshield.

An important racing history and a perfectly known and documented provenance.

It is the AC ACECA BRISTOL which has the most important race record during this period.  

 

First registered RB25 by its first owner Roy Brightman, it was entered in the race from the  August 31, 1957 at Goodwood. It will be the beginning of a long series of races in which it will be entered from 1957 to 1962. When  of her first season she crossed the Channel to participate in the Tour de France of 1957. She appears on the cover of the Goodwood Tourist Trophy program of August 20, 1960.

In 1959 Ron Brigthman sold BE621 to Hugh Dibley and he  retained the RB25 registration of the AC ACECA Bristol in favor of the Lister Jaguar he had just acquired. BE621 therefore received a new 49 VMT registration that it has kept until today. Hugh Dibley was one of the drivers who raced in a Howmet TX, in particular at the 1968 24 Hours of Le Mans. With his AC ACECA Bristol he also took part in many races in England.

The car has been fully restored to the state of the art

When Ascott Collection acquired this rare car in 2015, it was decided to undertake a complete restoration of the car in order to give it a second youth!  The work extended over a period of 10 months between 2015 and 2016. The chassis was checked and found to be in very good condition. 

The wooden frames of the body were replaced only where it was necessary, namely in the lower part of the doors and the tailgate. The bodywork has been rectified in places where previous repairs had not been carried out properly. All the putty that was found was therefore removed.

The engine has been revised, a new electrical harness identical to the original one has been installed, the upholstery which has been in good condition has been renovated, the five vents where the engine air extractors are positioned have been uncorked (a plate aluminum had been welded to the inside of the body during a previous restoration dating from the 90s). The curvature of the doors has been restored thanks to the replacement of certain wooden sleepers, (Over time the wooden structure of the doors deteriorates and the doors of the AC ACECA lose their original curvature, in particular on the lower part).  It has been repainted and is coming  just finished  a break-in of 1500 km.

This AC ACECA Bristol is therefore offered for sale in impeccable presentation and working condition.

This rare piece is eligible for many prestigious events such as the Mille Miglia, the Tour de France, the Cento Ore Modena Goodwood Revival, etc ...

It is sold with an important dossier of historical documents.
